In both NSW and Japan, some people are exempt from jury, but the situation is different.

In NSW, there are various cases where a jury can be exempted. For example, if you have a medical condition that makes jury service difficult, or if jury service causes undue hardship or serious inconvenience to you, your family, or the public. Also, some people are automatically exempt from jury. It is clergy, healthcare professionals, dentists, and people working in emergency medical services.

In Japan, there are very few cases where a jury can be exempted. For example, exemptions for severe illness or injury are possible, as in NSW, but are otherwise limited. In particular, work can be exempted only if it is an important task of the business in which you are engaged and if you do not handle it yourself there is a risk of causing significant damage to the business.

In conclusion, NSW and Japanese jury exemptions are different.
